Ford Pickup Thermostat Installation Instructions

The Ford pickup’s engine needs a totally functioning engine coolant Thermostat with a purpose to function properly. If you start your Ford truck, the engine is chilly and cannot burn the air/gasoline combination correctly till the engine reaches operating temperature. If the engine far surpasses operating temperature, it is going to overheat. The Thermostat regulates the engine temperature to make all this work as designed. Anyone with basic auto restore skills can set up a new Thermostat in a Ford pickup in less than one hour.

Ford Pickup Thermostat Installation Instructions

1. Open the Ford truck’s hood and assist it with the prop rod if necessary. Slide the drain pan beneath the front of the engine, aligned with the thermostat housing, positioned the place the upper radiator hose meets the engine.
2. Remove the thermostat housing bolts with the socket set. Pull the thermostat housing off the Ford truck’s consumption by hand. Note the place and orientation of the thermostat inside the intake manifold. Take away the previous thermostat O-ring by hand.
3. Remove the Ford truck’s outdated thermostat by hand and discard it. Shove a rag into the intake manifold to prevent debris from falling in. Clear the sealing surfaces of the consumption manifold and thermostat housing with the gasket scraper and rag.
4. Remove the rag from the intake manifold and set the thermostat O-ring in place by hand. Set the Ford truck’s new thermostat into the intake.
5. Lower the Ford truck’s thermostat housing into place by hand. Reinstall the thermostat housing bolts with the socket set. Open the radiator or coolant overflow tank and exchange any coolant which will have escaped while you removed the thermostat housing.
